Current fluctuations in stochastically resetting particle systems

چکیده
The authors investigate the effects of stochastic resetting on current fluctuations for two different models particle motion: Brownian motion and run-and-tumble motion. Using analytical numerical methods, they find large differences in how approach steady state annealed quenched cases.

Large Fluctuations in Stochastically Perturbed Nonlinear Systems: Applications in Computing
Nonlinear dynamical systems often display complex behavior. In this lecture I shall review the behavior of stochastically perturbed dynamical systems, which is a field of its own. I shall use this as an opportunity to discuss applications to computer science, though applications to statistical physics, chemical physics, and elsewhere in the sciences are also numerous. If a deterministic dynamic...
متن کاملFinite-size fluctuations in interacting particle systems.
Fluctuations may govern the fate of an interacting particle system even on the mean-field level. This is demonstrated via a three species cyclic trapping reaction with a large, yet finite number of particles, where the final number of particles N(f) scales logarithmically with the system size N, N(f) approximately ln N. Statistical fluctuations, that become significant as the number of particle...
متن کاملElectric Current Fluctuations in Mesoscopic Systems
The thesis consists of three parts. In the first part, electric current fluctuations in phase-coherent mesoscopic conductors are considered. For a dc transport, electron counting statistics shows that the fluctuations are reduced due to Fermi statistics. Fermi correlations lead to regularity of electron flow, and to binomial counting statitics. For a time-dependent voltage, the phase-coherence ...
متن کاملCurrent fluctuations for stochastic particle systems with drift in one spatial dimension
This review article discusses limit distributions and variance bounds for particle current in several dynamical stochastic systems of particles on the one-dimensional integer lattice: independent particles, independent particles in a random environment, the random average process, the asymmetric simple exclusion process, and a class of totally asymmetric zero range processes. The first three mo...
متن کاملNonlinear Fluctuations of Interacting Particle Systems
We introduce what we call the second-order Boltzmann-Gibbs principle, which allows to replace local functionals of a conservative, onedimensional stochastic process by a possibly nonlinear function of the conserved quantity. This replacement opens the way to obtain nonlinear stochastic evolutions as the limit of the fluctuations of the conserved quantity around stationary states. As an applicat...
